Technically it's a violation of the terms of your contact (so they can bill you a ridiculous amount for the exact same service). However, if you keep your usage to a reasonable level (e.g. not downloading torrents/music/etc.), it's not something they'd ever really know about.

While they have gotten away with it for a while now and I suspect will get away with it in the future, VZW can charge you for it if they catch you. As Mr. Gibb aptly points out the nail that sticks out the highest gets hit. Dan
