Tethering on Sprint for home Internet?

Okay so here's the deal in 1½ months my promotional offer with Comcast Internet will go up from $20 a month to $65 a month. I switched to Sprint from AT&T in February and on average use 110~140GB a month of cellular data. If I use my phone as my main source of Internet I will most likely use 200~350GB of data a month. My question is will Sprint do anything about this? The tower I connect to isn't congested at all and I get around 25Mbps during peak hours. Also if Sprint does do something will I get a warning first or will they just cut my service. I have my girlfriend on my account and I would really hate for her service to get terminated. Has anyone else tried to replace their home Internet with Sprint? I know a few people that have but that was a few years ago before LTE.

They definitely do terminate service for excessive tethering. I can't say how the process goes, but I wouldn't count on it as a long term solution.

What if I tunnel everything through a VPN through port 443 or would they still be able to tell I was tethering?

The advice I give is you can risk it.. But if they catch you doing it expect to be terminated.. Since you agreed to only have unlimited data to the phone and not devices tethered to it.

They will for sure catch on since your data usage will go up drastically, and most likely terminate you

However this makes a great "Get out of my contract free card!". But it is looked down on though.

Don't be an [inappropriate language edited by Moderator] and use your phone as your ISP. You will get booted, and I for one will be glad. Sprint is not running a home ISP network, its a cellular data network. Big difference. I can't stop you from abusing the system but keep it up and unlimited data might be a thing of the past for good.

I wouldn't say might be.. Sprint is already moving away from unlimited except for individuals.. Family plans now share data.
