When I'm at home, I mostly use my wi-fi to connect to my home network. When Verizon ends the free tethering, will I then start getting charged to do that? Thanks to the board as always.

Apples and Oranges... those are two different things... you will always be able to connect your device to any wifi network, at home, coffee shops, where ever... but tethering is using your device as a wifi hotspot and allowing a PC or other device to connect to your smartphone and communicate across the web... these are two totally different things.

+1...you are not "tethering". Tethering would be if you were out at a park (or wherever) and you use your phone's 3G/4G connection to get your laptop onto the net. Tethering is using your phone as the modem.

What you're doing is just connecting your phone to the WiFi (your broadband isn't coming from your phone).
