Text message delay

My fiance has this phone and her text messages are either delayed or not in conversation. She will have 2 of her messages on top one another and the person she's texting will have the same way. Any suggestions on what I can do? If need a screen shot let me know

I noticed this with the AT&T Messages app. Since the KK update, and the fact AT&T released a free Visual VM app, which is what I had originally put the AT&T Messages app on for, I have not noticed this issue.
