Text message google voice entry locks screen on S4

My Galaxy S4 gets "locked up" by the google voice entry feature 'pops up' when I receive a 'text message'. It covers the bottom 1/3 of the screen and it can not be 'x'ed off. I have to completely 'restart' the phone to get rid of the 'popup voice entry'.

Welcome to Android Central! Does this happen when you get an SMS message on your Messaging app? I'm not sure why you're putting quotes around "text message"--is it not a real text?

When you say Google Voice entry, do you mean Google Voice Typing? Is it a microphone that says Speak Now?
