Coming from my DroidX the text message vibrate seems to take FOOOOOOOOOOOOOOREVER. It's really not that bad, but it's the same vibrate my phone would do when ringing, so I'm constantly yanking the thing out of my pocket expecting a call.

Any way to change the length? I haven't seen anything and I expect to hear "You'll get used to it." :p

I don't know if there is in the stock messenger app, but if I recall correctly you have complete control over vibration style/length if you switch to using handcent for SMS

You could probably use an app called SMS Popup, lets you define the vibration pattern. (This method allows you to retain the stock messaging app)

I'm using Handcent, I didn't see a vibrate length but that's not to say it isn't there. I'll look into both things, thanks guys.

Edit:

Default for Handcent was 1200 milliseconds, I changed it to 400 and that's a lot more reasonable.

You can also set up custom patterns, which I might do just so I know it was a text message in my pocket.
