text messages are disappearing

[Android Central Question]

Hi all, i have noticed that with one contact only, (who has an iphone) that prior to April 1st , all of the text messages are gone from both sides but all the images and GIFs are still there. So its as if all of our convos were simply images which is obviously not the fact. There is no way that anyone physically went and deleted them from my phone. any suggestions as to why this is happening and what to do to stop it.

Which device you have and are you using the stock message app, if so try something like Google message
