Text Messages Failing - Verizon

I've had some issues sending text messages. Sometimes they go through some are failing immediately. Once they start failing the only way to resolve the problem is by rebooting the phone. Anyone else having this problem?

Is it a bug with Verizon or with the phone?

I would say with the phone. I have a Verizon Moto X and my text messages go through no problem. Not one failed message since I got this phone last Sunday.

I have a Verizon Moto X and I'm having no issues either. I think radgatt is right, must be a phone issue. Maybe try a good old factory reset.

I think it's a Verizon issue. Been having problems for months sporadically with texting. Same problem on multiple phones, Android, ios, and even Windows Phone. Verizon replaced two phones for me only to come back with the same issue. They keep telling me it's the phones, but after hearing this experience from LOTS off Verizon customers, I think it's a network issue.

Don't know if it's related, but mine started failing a couple of days ago. I was using Textra and figured it was that so i went back to stock text, but haven't been texting enough to know if that solved the problem. (i'm on sprint)

Yup. If you can't pin down the cause, always try a factory reset.

I've had no problems with texting whatsoever with Verizon Moto X. Maybe its the sim card. Try wiping down the sim card and reinstalling.

It occasionally happens on my GNex. Two things fix it, either splitting the text message in two or rebooting. I agree on the possibility of a wonky sim card. My sim goes haywire on occasion as well requiring removal and reinsertion.
