Text messages from Z3 to iPhone6 not being recieved - grey bubble ?

Girlfriend has updated her iphone 5 to a iphone 6 and i decided to go from Samsung s3 to a Sony Z3

Now all of a sudden she gets random texts of me ? sometimed they get there but other times its just a speech bubble!

At first i thought i had sorted it... as it seemed to be when i put a smiley before any text to start a message it failed, so i started just sending text with the smiley after.

Today its doing it again and have had to resort to whatsapp to make sure she gets my text!

Anyone got any ideas ?

Try sending texts to someone with an Android. If it keeps happening it's your phone, If it only happens on her phone, it's her phone, and she should bring it to a Genius Bar.

(The first thing she should have done, of course, was to send you an SMS from the new phone. The fact that it might be expecting iMessages from your number might be causing a problem.)
