Still issue with Viewing log. I have Galaxy S4, Verizon, Android 4.3. I am experiencing the issue that a few are experiencing.
That, in the "Recent" tab of the phone screen, after setting the 'view' to be just 'All calls', .... that after a short while I go back to "Recent", and all of a sudden, I'm again, seeing ALL calls and messages. The selection has changed itself, back to what looks like the default ... "All calls and messages". I change it again to "All calls", and short time later, same thing. All calls and texts.

Who else is seeing this? I can't understand why people have said the problem is 'fixed'. Simply confused. Thanks for your help.http://forums.androidcentral.com/images/smilies/cool.png

You are apparently not using Samsung Log Converter: http://market.android.com/details?id=com.samsung.log.converter.ics as mentioned in post #7.

This is not a resolved issue.
I just bought a new one and it displays ALL logs by default. Each time you access the log, you have to view all, or change the settings to view just what you want to view.
I don't think it is a bug, I think it is just the way the code was written. If you want to use a 3rd party app and fix it, cool. Otherwise, change it to what you want to view when you access it.
It is a bit aggravating, but hardly enough to cause me to want a different phone.

I am on my second phone from verizon, thay have not heard of this issue, it gets progressively worse with the more time I had the phone, i would look at my call logs and there are my text messages, id change the view, a day or two later, the view was all messages and calls, so they sent me a new phone, now its happening again. so now im stuck with a bad phone, if i could leave Verizon i would, they wont take any responsability

Perhaps because it's a Samsung problem - try the solution mentioned in post #7 and again in post #25.

This is pretty good but not what i personally want. I want the log to display JUST the missed calls. Anything other then that is useless for me. The fact that the "view" option doesn't save or resets when pressing the back button is dumb honestly. That app linked only removes the sms type messages in the log, but it doesn't let u permanently switch to viewing just a certain thing like only missed calls.

I run 4.3 on S3.

I guess you should PERSONALLY complain to Samsung about it then.

Or you could contact the developer of the app that was mentioned and politely request a feature change that allows users to select the item(s) that they care about.

I just wanted to ask about this.... do the logs for text messages take up any space in the phone? I dont mind going thru and deleting the logs every so often... if its needed.

The only way for me not to see my messages in the call log is by downloading Call Log converter from the Playstore. Try it, it works.

Samsung Log Converter from the play store no settings to make just gets rid of messages in the call log

I got the same problem with my s4 showing my txt message in call log its just so annoying. What I did its click on phone icon..click on logs...click menu (button on down left the home screen button) ..then click on views by...then set it to all calls .. txt message not showin up on my call logs no more..

I need my text messages to show up
