Text Messages on a call Wired Headset vs Bluetooth

I have looked around and haven't found a matching thread so here goes
my question is this: I've noticed when I'm on a call Via (bluetooth) and I receive a text message I don't hear a sound just the envelop icon on the status bar. But again I'm on a call this time I'm using a (wired Headset) during the in coming text message I get a loud beep even the person on the other end hears it. Is there a setting I'm missing here? for both scenarios? I'm on Froyo 2.2

This is because the way that sound is delivered to your ear is different.

What I mean by that is when you have a wired headset it is taking the sound from your device directly from...your device. For instance if you have a set of headphones or a hands free headset plugged in and you navigate the phone with audible feedback you will hear it. However when you have a bluetooth earpiece connected to your device and you start using the music player you will not hear it through your bluetooth. But you would if you had stereo bluetooth headphones.

When you are connected to it via Bluetooth it works differently. It has to do with the technology and limitations thereof.

I am fairly certain there are no settings on the phone that will allow you to hear that via bluetooth.

If your not on a call and you get a text (but your bluetooth ear piece is connected to the phone) do you hear the beep or whatever you have set as the notification coming from the phones speaker?

If I'm not on a call and I have a (blue tooth headset) on and I receive a text message I do hear it (I have Droid speaks as my texting notification). It's only when I'm on a call that I don't hear it. When I'm a wired headset and on a call when I receive a text I hear a loud beep during the call even the other person can hear it. Is there a way to change that?

Go to sound settings then volume and uncheck 'Use incomming call volume for notifications'. Now you can turn the notification volume all the way down. Thats what I do, now it just vibrates when I have a message.
