text messages out of order

I have the galaxy note 8 and all my text messages are out of order, can anyone please tell me how to fix this.. I've never had this problem worth any other phone

Typically if the sender has a different carrier and they send a message over 160 characters without making it an mms then the messages will be split.
Those split messages can come in out of order.
It has happened on every phone I've had.

I've never had this happen before, their all in different orders... there has to be a way to fix it

Is automatic date and time turned on in settings/general management/date and time? If not, try turning it on.

I don't know if this will help you, but I ditched the stock carrier messaging app that came with my Note 8 and went with Android Messages by Google. Most of my issues went away though I still get an occasional out of sequence text--no biggie.

The representative said this should have worked for me but it didn't. Maybe for you or someone else it will. I have the note 8 also. My conversation list stays out of order. She had me go into my settings first, select APPS. Then go down until you see MESSAGES, click it then click storage. Now hit CLEAR CACHE.
If not, go to your dial pad like you're calling someone and dial ##72786 #. It won't erase and pictures or media. It'll reset to factory defaults. Good luck.
