Do text messages go over the LTE network when advanced calling is on? It seems to me it is but verizon never told us. Only thing i remember them saying was they were working in it. To test to see I turned on GSM/UMTS/ LTE mode on my s6. I sent a text message and i went through and received one. Seems to me that not just calls are going over it but so are text messages

I would suspect so. The s6 doesn't support simultaneous lte and cdma radios active, so if you don't see the 4GLTE radio turning off then it is going over 4GLTE.

Sent from my Pearly White Verizon Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge

Text message is via the cell connection (during the "keep alive" signal) -- if you mean SMS. MMS would go over LTE since it needs mobile data.

I am talking about SMS. That seems to go over LTE also now. Bc when i turn off cdma i can still send and receive from the stock samsung messaging app. It cant be going through CDMA (1x and EVDO) since it is off, as is wifi so my conclusion is SMS now go over LTE also.

It technically isn't going over LTE .. more the cell connection. SMS messages go over your "keep alive" signal... no matter if you're on 3G , LTE , or WiFi -- As you can see you still have cell bars. So that keep alive signal (your phone keeps pinging a tower to keep it alive) is where SMS messages "piggy back" onto. This is why so many people back in the day raged about paying $20 for unlimited messages since it doesn't cause any extra strain on the network for SMS messages.
