Text messaging issues

I just got my new Evo shift and everything is going good except for one thing. I have a friend who has a Samsung Intensity on Verizon. When i try to reply to her messages in the thread between us, my messages wont go through. However, if I create a new message outside of the the thread and send it, those will make it through. I asked the guy at the Sprint store and he was dumbfounded. I texted other people on the Verizon network and all worked normally so it has to be the Samsung phone. Has anyone else experienced this kind of problem? Do i need to change any settings when texting her? Thank you!

When I had my Samsung Moment with Sprint...I would text my friend who had a BB8530 on MetroPCS -- I was told by her that she would not always get all parts of my longer text messages. I was using the stock messages app and then I switched to handcent sms and she told me the same thing. some of parts of my longer text messages didn't always go through. Since I have switched to the htc evo shift 4g, I have not heard her say anything about not getting my multi-part text messages. I am still using handcent sms as I like that better then the stock messaging program.
