Text messaging question

My wife currently has an S4 and is considering the G4 due to the requirement for her of a swappable battery. She brought something up this weekend that's been a frustration for her.
Before Lollipop, if she got a text from someone that had a phone number in it, she could touch the number and she'd get the option to text it. Since lollipop, the option from texting in the same circumstances is no longer there (but she can viber the #. Wtf?)
Does anyone know if the G4 has this functionality?

So she cant reply to the text from the stock samsung messaging app?

It's app-specific, since it's an app function. She can probably find a messaging app that will allow her to test to a phone number in the text. The app in the S4 would do it - back it up as an apk file (App Backup & Restore will do that), move the apk file to the G4 and run it (find it in a file manager and tap it). It'll install and she can set it as her default text app (and drag its icon to the homescreen in place f the LG app icon that's there).
