Text msgs no longer waking up Always On Display

After the latest update for my Galaxy S21, my txt msg pop ups are no longer waking up the Always on Display. This was working fine before the update. I currently use Verizon Messages+ as my messaging app but have tried other ones since this problem & they're all having the same problem. Pop up txt msgs are not waking up AOD or lock screen.

What do you have AOD set to?
