Text Msgs

I'm with TMobile and over the last week or so I'm not receiving random msgs from people. I just recently unistalled next sms thinking that might be a problem. Anyone else have the same or know what the issue might be?

I wasn't getting MMS messages from my wife when I was using Textra. I switched back to Samsung Messaging and they all came through. I'm on Sprint.

What have your results been after switching back to your stock messaging app? Perhaps try downloading another third party messaging app, like Textra or Chomp SMS, and see if the issue persists.

So far using Samsung messaging it looks like I'm receiving all of them, but I was messaging someone who was using Google voice and they weren't getting mine even though they showed as sent. Started sending them to their cell and they are getting all my msgs now.

Prior to uninstalling Next Sms, I did notice it was in "always sleeping apps" under battery mgmt. Might that have caused issues?

Can't send MMS messages to non-Verizon with Verizon's "Message+" app.
Switched to Samsung Message app and it worked.

Certainly. The app can't receive messages when sleeping. If you try that (or any other) Messaging app, put it in "Unmonitored" so it won't be put to sleep or suggested for putting to sleep.

I have no idea how it made it there. I reinstalled handcent and needless to say, its "unmonitored" now

Message issues are usually a carrier issue or data issue. Messages between different carriers are completed by a third party which can also be the issue. Your carrier can figure out the problem and let you know where the disconnect is.

I'm glad you are receiving messages now! And yes, if your app was not running in the background, that could explain why you were missing some messages. Glad you're working things out!

Not true. I MMS with my wife's and daughter's iPhones all the time with Verizon's Message+ app.

Update:. Everything was working fine until Saturday when I wasn't getting msgs. I checked Handcent and it was unmonitored. The stock app received the msgs even though Handcent was set as default. Looks like time to uninstall Handcent til they get the bug fixed

Install Yaata. If you have any issue - it's configuration. You will love it.

I had the same problem. I am a loyal Textra Pro paid version, had missed texted messages. So I found the reason why is I let the app go to sleep. So I had to go into battery management and set Textra to never go to sleep, and no problems since!
