I just got my HTC One for T-mobile about a week ago. So far, loving the phone after upgrading from the Galaxy SII. However, I've run into 2 problems that concern me.
The first is a minor issue, but when the screen is off and I receive a text, there is no on screen notification that I got it. It'll play a sound or vibrate, and the LED light blinks properly, but the screen doesn't turn on. I thought at first it might've been the power saver setting, but that wasn't it. I've checked the messenger settings and the regular phone settings as well. Everything that should be checked is on. I've tried to reset the phone and tech support couldn't figure it out either. I haven't heard anyone having this issue yet so I thought it was meant to be this way.
My second problem comes with the call quality. When I hold the phone vertically I can hear everyone and they can hear me clearly as well. Unfortunately sometimes the call drops in and out, as if the other line started to mumble even though they weren't. Also, when I lay down, everyone has told me that they cannot hear me anymore, as if I was the one mumbling now. My hand was not covering the mic and there was nothing obstructing it either. The only remedy I have for this issue was to plug in headphones and talk directly into the mic.
I really want to love this phone but for me, those are two features of a phone that are crucial. I would be okay if the camera was the problem or blue tooth since I don't use those features often, if ever. I'm concerned about replacing this handset for another in the event the second has problems too, or it has build quality issues. I've noticed on others that the plastic isn't cut precisely with the metal body, there are gaps, and/or the camera jets out when it shouldn't.
Has anyone else had these issues? I have a follow up with tech support tomorrow to see whats going on and if the second replacement doesn't turn out, I suppose I may just go back to Samsung or Apple. Thank you for reading
