Text Response Going to Another Contact

Lately I've been responding to received texts by using the tap to compose method. I have received texts from two different contacts and my responses have been sent to the same wrong contact.
The wrong contact's messages have been deleted so I know I'm not tapping on the wrong message for my responses. Thank you for any help.

this was a reported bug by android. a quick google search will bring up a ton of info. your the first i've seen reporting this issue on these devices.
