Texting Issue Driving Me Crazy

Phone: S6 Edge Plus
Carrier: Tmobile
Messaging App: Messages (stock Samsung messaging app)

I can no longer send out texts to people but I can send MMS. So I can group message and send pictures, but I can't SMS people. I can receive texts though. I've called tmobile and restarted the phone, cleared the messaging app's cache and data and restarted the phone, deleted all of my texts and restarted the phone. Then the technician told me that he would have to send someone to look at a tower and he would call me Tuesday. So I went into a store thinking I may have better luck there. I did not.

tl;dr: can receive sms and mms but can only send mms, not sms. Did all the simpleton, mom-level tech support stuff. Any suggestions?

Its not an answer but it could rule out the towers suggestion if you tried another app and it works.

Doesn't work with Messenger (the google messaging app) or Hangouts (the...other google messaging app).

I tried sending a text through MySMS on my computer and it didn't work but it did pop up on my phone as a failed attempt.

I deleted MySMS just now and it still didn't work. So I'm thinking this really is a tmobile issue.

There's a chance that your phone needs to be re-provisioned on the network. Check with T-Mobile.
