Why would you want to? You can chose which word the Hero uses before it uses it... I guess I don't really understand your problem?

sometimes it comes up with a different word first than the word i want. so if i delete them then i wont have the issue

Here's a good example. "id" is the default word when I type "if" using the compact QWERTY keyboard. I'd like to either delete "id" from the list or change "if" to be the default choice. Another example: misspelled words that were accidentally saved, and appear as choices instead of the correct spelling. If there isn't a way to edit the list, there should be.

Well there is a way to clear the entire database back to default. It's not exactly what is wanted but might help with those misspelled words.

settings > Applications > Manage Applications > Touch Input > Clear data

Interesting. I'll try pulling the app's cache from the data directory and see if the dictionary database can be edited.
