texting issue

When I go to text a family member that still has an active thread the messaging box has a previous message already typed in it. I've tried sending it to see if it will go away and just erasing it. My next step is completely erasing the thread.

Has this happened to anybody else or does anyone know how to resolve the issue?

What you want to do in go into the SMS thread with that contact in particular. Backspace (delete) the entire message and now you have a blank field. Before backing back out of that thread, reboot your phone while the phone is on that SMS screen and when you come back to that thread after the reboot your problem should be fixed.

I know that this is an old thread, but it sounds like you had a saved draft.
I had this problem as well; a much more time-friendly approach to this problem is going into Messages, moving the slider at the bottom over to "SMS/MMS"and delete the draft from there.
Just tryna save some time for you!

No need to reboot. Go to settings--applications--manage applications-- running-- find messages, clear cache and force stop--

should fix it
