Anyone use Textra for your text messaging needs?
Is it just me or does this app take up most a GB of space?

I use it. A GB of space? I don't think so. I've had no issues with it. But I'll check. Where are you looking to see how much it's using?

How much text messages do you have? If you have a lot then that is probably what is taking up that amount of space.

If I'm not mistaken, there's a thousand MB in one GB. So 87mb isn't taking up that much space?

You are right my mistake.
But it was because i had a lot of texts saved up. I deleted more than half and i went down to 57mb.

But still for some reason i only have 1Gb of internal storage.

Not to hijack your thread but does group messaging work in this app as it does in the stock messaging app?

Yes. I've used chomp, native and now Textra and it's by far my favorite, slightly less customizable but clean, solid and functional. :-)

I would probably be using it if I didn't like the native app for some reason(call me crazy... I know). Really, if a dev makes an app that can send texts via WiFi without having a mobile connection(and uses your own number), that would be what I used, even if it costs me a few bucks.

I actually like native too but I have friends who are emoji crazy. LOL

Yay! Textra is the best text messaging app or there. Sleek, simple, fast and easy to use. Even had a couple things other like chomp and handset don't. I have downloaded all meaning apps out there and textra is by far the best.

Try it out. I use it all the time for people who do not have unlimited texting.

I've used go, chomp, handcent, and textra. Textra is the best. A no-fuss replacement for the stock android messaging app on my EVO LTE. Solved the problem I had with photos getting dumbed down too much when sending mms

Few things I don't like about textra.
Is there a way to turn off auto correct?
I can never see the time I send my SMS.

You have to swipe right to left, the time will show then.
