Textra - Different Categories of Notifications

Hi all,

I have used Textra for a long time and only recently (I would say when I got my new S20) that messages from some contacts come through as 'Conversations' while others come through as 'Default'. There is no apparent reason why some are listed one way or the other. i.e my partner who I message most is 'default' whereas people who I message one a month are a 'conversation'.

I still get the notifications, but one will be at the top of the list, then notifications for other apps and then another text will be at the bottom of the list.
I have looked through Textra and Samsung notification settings and can't seem to figure it out.

Does anyone know why/how to resolve this?

I found another thread with a similar issue and did all the things that helped them.
No one is marked as a favourite, or has customised notifications that would mark them as different in the app
