Textra or default msg app?

Change these two settings. MMS has been working perfectly for me in Textra on T-Mobile.

What version are you on? I'm on 3.40 and don't have that T-Mobile fix option. And are you using Legacy or did you turn it off in favor of System? The MMS issue has been quite annoying.

I used Textra a lot until I got a Gear watch and I kept on getting incompatibility messages (maybe it was just a Samsung thing to scare me into using their stock messaging app).

Stock. Used Textra on Pixel but it wasn't playing nice on the Note. Stock is fine.

Does the notifications come through on your gear watch using the Samsung messages app?

I installed Textra a few days ago, and am now using it.
However, I read online yesterday, or day before, that with those live video/stream things, you can share those via Textra. Albeit, I've not tried, or even recorded one, yet...

Bottom line is, at the moment Textra works for me. I don't really send gifs and such anyway, so...

I wonder why I can't make threads.. Only can reply

I loved Textra until I got my Samsung watch. Needed stock messaging for functionality.

Is anyone encountering this issues. I turn on the option where if the SMS is long, for the message to be converted to MMS. I'm not sure if my receivers are receiving the MMS texts. I'm on Tmobile, and set the app to system instead of legacy. I was wondering if this is an issue. Sending these mms text to iPhone users. I might convert back to stock messenge app, if this is an issue.

Interesting, I've been using Textra since launch and experience none of the issues described here. Are some of these issues only affecting certain carriers? I am on AT&T and don't have any issues sending/receiving texts, MMS, animated gifs, video files, etc. to my gf with a Verizon iPhone. Also, no navigation bar issue either.

Textra seems to be the only messaging app out there that lets you send/receive iOS emojis.

I didn't at first but yesterday I couldn't send live messages with Textra and had to switch back to the messaging app. I'm also on att.

Holy crap, you're right. Me neither. It used to be OK and now I have issues. I spoke too soon and got instant karma.

When I use Samsung messages app my notifications do not show up on the watch. That's why I use Textra as my sms app

Open up the Gear app on your phone (you should have been prompted to download it from the playstore when you connected your watch) and go into Settings/Notifications and you can tailor (manage applications) which notifications you get.

use Textra or Google. Samsung messages plays my gifs and videos in fast forward for some reason. can't figure out why.

Yep. I use GBoard 100% of the time. Go to Settings (of the phone, not Textra)>Advanced Features> S Pen> Direct Pen Input. Turn that setting on. When you have your S-Pen hovering over a text entry area, a bluish-green symbol will come up and if you press that it will show the handwriting input area.

Do not have Samsung Messages listed on my list for notifications
