I'm using the free version right now and I love it, just wondering if the full version is any different or better? Or does it just remove the ads?

I've had the paid version for awhile now, as said, I believe it only removes the ads, more than worth it

Yep, but ads removal is a good thing all by itself.

It's actively developed. I paid gladly for it.

Yes, it does remove the ads, but as other users have said, it is well worth the money and the app developers are on point. I paid for the full version when I had my Nexus 5 and did not regret it. I've never downloaded an app with such spectacular customer service than Textra SMS.

... Okay, I sound like a sales representative here, but it's true. :P

I don't use Textra, I use the paid version of Handcent but I really don't mind spending a few bucks on an app that I really like. It gives the developer an incentive to continuously improve the app. I would say if you really like the app, pay the marginal amount to support the developer. It's nice having an ad free app.

I don't use Textra, I use its big brother chompSMS, and similarly, the payment only removes the ads. But it does seem right to pay for something you use a lot.

Been using the paid version of Textra for a couple of years, solid App and good developer support. Well worth to pay for it to remove the ads and support the Devs.

Very well-said! I couldn't agree more!

As others said.. It removes ads. It also supports the dev. They keep it pretty updated so I'm more than happy to support them :).

May I ask......

What does Textra give / provide better than say the native text app already on the phone ?

Customization of individual contacts, as opposed to virtually none...or in the case of something like Verizon's Messages+, only *conversations*. Dark or black themes.

I use the paid version for a year+ already. Best money spent, clean user interface and looks nice too :)

Thanks for all your advice guys I live in the UK and for £2.49 I will buy it. As you say supporting the dev is a good thing!
