Texts not bring received after T2 upgrade

As the title says I am having trouble. We have 3 new turbos and a lot edition moto x in the family. Some of our texts just don't seem to be going through. I've heard about the Apple issues with old text threads, but this seems different. After reboots they seem to flood in but not until. Using Verizon if not already known.

Maybe faulty SIM card?
