Texts to iPhones

I've been with apple for a very long time and just got my pixel 2 and have it activated.

Before I activated my pixel I followed the directions and turned off iMessage, find my iPhone and all what the Google instructions were.

I just tried texting a friend that has an iPhone and they said they have to received​ the text.

Is there something I'm missing so that my texts go through to them.

Try texting someone who doesnt have iMessage and see if they get your text. I had this issue to when I switched to the s8 from an iPhone. I think what fixed it was the other party had to delete the conversation we had because their iPhone still was in "iMessage" mode.

This happened to me. I had a wait a few hours for iPhone users to receive my texts.

Have your friend restart their iPhone.

You may have to have your friends delete the existing text threads on your phone in order for it to work properly.

I know for group texts you would have to have everyone on the thread that has an iPhone delete the thread from past experience. Thank Apple and their ****ty iMessage platform. Lol
