Wasn't sure whether I was going to bother posting, but after getting assurances from Verizon indicating my Pixel XL 128GB was shipping on 12/2, I got a lil' email saying "Sorry, you're going to have to wait for another few weeks (specifically until 1/13)."

So angry. Not sure if I should a) dump the order; b) dump Verizon and find a new provider; c) have Verizon credit me the monies I've already laid out for cases and chargers and the other crap I've bought in anticipation for the phone's (now questionable) arrival, or d) have them credit me the various data overage fees I've had as a result of the cluster this whole process has been.

Yes, I know it's Google's fault for intentionally or otherwise holding handsets back. But the shipment email came from Verizon and never once did they say "No way it's not going to ship, you'll have it by 12/4 or 12/5."

What a show.

Really , if that wasn't made clear beforehand.

That said, Verizon cancelled the last 3 orders for Pixels I put in. 2 XL's and a regular one. They seem to be way over their capacity for these devices.

Now if they all worked on Verizon's network that would be another story. Can you imagine how many more orders they will be getting? Pixel 2 will be released and they will still be filling back orders from this one

You could call them up, tell them you want to cancel and be transferred to retention. I got a $100 credit when I called to *stop* a number port out (i.e. I said "hi I started a number port out but want to stop it" and they said "no problem, also we'll give you a $100 credit").

I ordered via Best Buy's Black Friday $240 DPP deal.

Still hasn't shipped.

That one I don't understand; I ordered that on Thanksgiving, they shipped it from the store 2 miles from my house and I got it on Saturday that same weekend.

That's why I went with the Zforce (and haven't looked back. Thus is a great phone, and the mods work great).
The local store kept saying they'd have it, then backing off the date... I was returning the note7 when they recalled them the final time, and was not going to deal with having to reinstall my apps and settings another time on a 'temp' 7 edge waiting... So I went with what was already my choice before I started looking at the pixl...

If I were you, I'd stay with VZW (if otherwise happy) but cancel my order and go through Google, instead.

If you've got to have the 821soc,get a oneplus 3T. Its a no brainer. I don't have one. I've got the pixel, S7 edge, and axon 7. Guess which one I'm selling? It's not the 2 phones with the number 7 in their name. And yes, I also dumped verizon too. After 24 years. My favorite is the ZTE axon 7.

I understand your frustration and I can completely sympathize with the anger you feel. But....my suggestion....is to try to put it out of your mind, Zen like, and when it arrives your past frustration will be forgotten. But I do understand.

What if someone doesn't like large phones? The size of the pixel is one of the main attractions for me

My apologies about the language, figured the site would clean up what it felt was not acceptable, will not recur.

As for your cancellations, after one auto-cancellation if I'm furious now I'd expect you are irate. These are phones -- granted, these are devices that in the overall scheme of life aren't very important -- but at the same time they (Verizon, et al) should at least convey the sense that they're hopeful of fulfilling orders and not going to absolutely do so.

Ridiculous.

I assume you're attempting sarcasm here -- if so, I am in the same place. However, I can definitely say without hesitation if VZW screws me again we'll yank our account -- after being with them for 10+ years -- without hesitation. We're happy with the service and don't mind the pricey invoices, but once one of those two things goes south so will we.

To me that's the worst of both worlds. I don't really have much of an issue with them but VZW is going to have to rectify the situation. To spend $850 (two or three times what VZW is charging) doesn't make much sense (Google is out of stock as well). And then having VZW's pricey contract for two years? Can't justify that. Wish I could, but definitely can't.

LOL I am getting there -- just ridiculous. I had no issues waiting since October for this phone. Had no problems loading up on accessories and acoutrement to get it up and running. Didn't mind the extra $30+ Zagg tagged me with after I swapped out two Note7 screen protectors and then a 7Edge Screen protector. So now I've got all this crap piling up I've got to just bite the bullet. For another six weeks. Really awful. And the worst part is that I don't believe Verizon when they say they'll ship it. So I'll do the best I can letting it be -- at least they're letting me use a 7Edge in the meantime. Still really awful. But the one saving grace is that I'm not alone, apparently. So we're all miserable together.

Just faboo.

Yeah I'm in the same boat. My order has been "Processing" since I ordered. My status window says "Get by 12/7". At this point I just want to know the truth. It's a great deal, but I'm starting to doubt I'll see it before 2017. I still really want this phone, but if at the point of ordering it told me I'd be waiting months I may have jumped on another deal.

I called Best Buy customer service and asked if I could cancel my order and I was told I'd have to wait till I got my phone to return it - that canceling would mess up my use of the VZW upgrade somehow. I think I'm going to just tough it out because $240 ... but I don't like the lack of transparency and being told I'm stuck waiting.
