The AKG earbuds are pretty bad

Although the earbuds that came with the Galaxy S8 look nice and expensive, they sound like garbage. They have NO bass to speak of so they're really tinny and shrill sounding.

I have an old pair of Sony MDR-ED12LP that cost me like $12 IIRC that sound 100 times better.

They say these earbuds retail for $99 or something like that. It's hard to believe. They sound like they cost $9.

I just put them back in the box and kept using my old Sonys.

Anyone like them? Are they supposed to be broken in or something? I feel ripped off with them.

They could have just given me the same earbuds that came with the S7 Edge. Those are pretty good, but still don't sound as good as the old Sonys.

I feel ripped off because they could have just put their Sumsung earbuds in there, the ones they had with the S7 Edge. I think they were trying to skimp on cheaper earbuds but trying make people think they're more expensive. They're unusable to me. They sound just terrible. Seriously, if they sound good to you, great, but go listen to another pair of $99 earbuds. You'll actually hear SOME bass.

Odd....mine have plenty of bass. Are they inserted in your ear canals all the way? In comparson to the S7 earbuds, I borrowed my coworkers buds he got with his S7E. To compare to the AKG we got here. I must say dude, if your AKG buds sound worse than the S7E buds, im thinking you got a defective set. AKG set has more bass, and are in general much more clear and defined.

I like them and I'm a certified audiophile. Nice and neutral. Sure I have plenty better, but these are fine pack ins.
