The Annoying scratch on HTC One

I wouldn't worry about it. It adds character. It's like a scar, you have a story to tell.

I never understood the concept of shoving your phone in your pocket. I've always liked pouches/ holsters. I have my One in an OB Defender, but if I wanted to go naked I would put it in a pouch.

I wish I had this problem...but my S4 actually feels more premium in a nice matte touch tpu. It feels gross, slimy and cheap if I take it out.

I would still rock it naked, phones are losing resale value more and more as they are inching towards a commodity. And because the prices customers pay for a subsidized on contract device.

I get my HTC One tomorrow.. It will be naked. :D.

I don't know why I keep thinking that I should sell this One and buy another, just because that single sratch, too irritating
But that would be very costly
a scratch is not the end of the world right ?

It doesn't affect the function of the device? A scratch is no reason well at least for me to return or sell it..

I absolutely Hate scratches on my devices, so I put an Otterbox Defender on my s4, it looks stupid but if it works it ain't stupid.

I'm not a fan of Otterbox, they add too much bulk to my device

I know how you feel. I just recently dropped my One and got a dent to the right of the power button on the front edge and a few small scratches on the back. I don't have a case because as I don't want to cover up the beauty of the phone. I have the Best Buy insurance so maybe I will take it in to see what options I have for replacement.

Ah... I, too, am very OCD when it comes to these things. I have a scratch and a small dent on the upper right part of the front of my One. It annoys me to no end to see it, but I guess that's what I get for not putting a case on it right away. Since then, I've gotten a UAG case for it and amazingly I haven't had that itch because of the defects. Oh, just a heads up: I went Best Buy as I have insurance there too, but everyone I talked to said that I would get a refurb. Didn't want to do that, so I stuck with it. Not sure if they'll say the same thing to you, cdknight, but I just wanted to let you know. :)

I am sure someone out there can give your phone a satin finish using a scotchbrite pad or the like.
So far I am very impressed with the HTC One's aluminum, way better than the aluminum Apple used on the Iphone 5 for the sides.

Currently there are no insurance service in my country, phones are bought and resold but not replaced, so I have no choice but to go full protection for my One

for the polished edges....the cape code polishing cloths do a great job in minimizing light scratches. I've got a couple of deep ones too that don't seem to go anywhere. Word to the wise though, make sure you tape off the non-polished back because inadvertent polishing of the brushed back will affect its finish.

I also recently scratched my phone and it got yanked out of my hand by a bag strap, hitting concrete which chipped the bottom left corner. :'( I had a case before I ever dropped it but never liked waring it. However, I have to make note that the case I have, a black Bear Motion case, real inexpensive, is the best feeling case I have ever put on any device. It's so dang thin the device feels just about the same. Love it! You should check it out on Amazon...you won't regret it. :)

I would say bust out a dremel tool, and get some polishing compound and see if you can give it a mirror finish!
