The annual trade-in race

Am hoping the experience of sending it back via UPS goes smoothly for everyone.

So does go back to FedEx like normal. I know the phone's come UPS I've gotten watches FedEx I think but I've always returned stuff to FedEx for trade in as far as I can remember.

Yes. If you go to your order page and click to print your trade-in shipping label it will be UPS.

No need to print it out though as they put one in the box of your new phone.
Ok thanks! I just said to myself oh I'll check my label from Samsung on my account. It's always been Fed Ex.

If you drop it off at UPS, GET A RECEIPT!!!

I had a friend who dropped off their phone and the UPS Employee assumed it was an Amazon return and the phone got lost and never found. They were disqualified from the trade-in rebate, but, thankfully, they have a great rep with their carrier and they applied it anyway.

Lesson learned, make them scan the package and give you a receipt with the tracking number on it.

UPS should have paid for that one. There's a shipping label on there for a reason. To top it off all Amazon would have had to do is ship it out again as it was prepaid or return to sender

Getting either UPS or Amazon to admit the mistake is near impossible. If he had made them scan it and hand him the receipt, that would have been different, but without any other information, then it was a fight, but he got it in the end, so that is what mattered to him.

What I don't get is, every time I've returned something from Amazon, they've always had to scan the qr code for the return. Plus they don't even want it returned in a box anymore.

I'm not trading at this time, but something I did seemed to change things. I always had issues trading in phones when I dropped them off at a local FedEx/Kinkos in my area (phone return boxes arriving empty, damaged, etc.). The attendants would ask me what I was sending back. I switched to dropping the phones off at a FedEx hub near my employer, and everything has gone smoothly since.

It could be just a coincidence, but I'm not taking any chances anymore.
