The big flaw with the Charge: lack of ram

I put launcher pro on, got rid of touchwiz and haven't had any problems.

touchwiz is at fault, just like the fascinate. custom roms that had as much touchwiz gone as possible were super smooth

He meant replaced the launcher with launcher pro

No, he just installed Launcher Pro on top of Touchwiz. You can find it in the Market and try it out. Many report that it runs smoother and definitely gets rid of some of the clutter.

I downloaded GO Launcher EX and the speed is much better now. The live wallpapers unfortunately kill it, but that's not uncommon.

I know its been mentioned by launcher pro can also be used to hide bloatware. Its like makeup. Hides the ugly.

it's a type of RAM (Random Access Memory)... it has the ability of running faster at lower voltage, faster read / write among speed many other nice features...

basically it means what may be necessary of 768 Ram (or more) of DDR (like the thunderbolt) can be achievable with less (like 512) on the Charge

I can't find any proof that the Charge is in fact DDR2. Anyone able to confirm or deny this?

I have 220 MB / 328 MB ram consumed with all apps closed - running launcher pro (and love it!)

t only appears that it has 328MB of ram on this device, all the memory apps i install say 328 not the 512
