The 'Dumb' New Owner Questions

My wife just got the G6, and since we have some questions (neither of us have owned an LG), figured I'd start this thread.

1) What plastic can be removed from the out of box phone? We know the screen protector obviously, but we see plastic strips on the sides too. She tried peeling one off, but it is pretty well stuck on so we aren't sure. Also, is there a plastic skin to remove on the back of the phone? There's the sticker with the SKU and such right in the middle of the back, but is there a clear skin?

2) Where's the damn app drawer? Does LG not have one on their devices?

I'll probably add more, since the phone is only 6 hours old. But thanks in advance.

No such thing as a dumb question. Depending on the carrier you may or may not have a pre-installed screen protector on the front. I am with T-Mobile and it did not have a screen protector just protective plastic which should be removed. There's also some thin plastic on the sides but I left those on. The back I believe also had protective plastic on it and that can be removed.

As far as getting the app drawer go to settings, home screen, select home, and choose home and app drawer.

Thanks. We're waiting to get a case before pulling any of the protective plastic off, but the back doesn't look like it has a removable plastic skin but feels like it (and I assumed they wouldn't stick the white SKU sticker right on the back of the phone)...Just don't want to start picking at the corners if there's nothing to peel off. The side stickers just seem to be well stuck on the phone, and the store models still had them on, so I wasn't sure if they were texture stickers to leave on or just protecting the bumper.
Figured out the app drawer too, thanks. What sucked though is my wife had created a bunch of folders on the home screens, and adding the app drawer deleted all the folders and removed a ton of apps from her home screens. Just a dumb way to handle the change, IMO.

We got the phone through Verizon. I'm a little upset that they didn't once mention the Google Home promotion either. Just happened to see a commercial for it last night. Will definitely be cashing that in.

Hopefully my wife likes the phone. And we will definitely have more questions.

My Verizon model was like that. I was not sure if there was a film on the back, as I could not find anywhere to peel, but the sticker on the back made me assume there was. I ended up peeling the sticker off, which was annoying since it left a good portion of the bar code behind, and I had to use Goo-Off to remove the residue. I still don't know if there is a film, or just glossy because of the glass.

The side protection peel off, just have to keep prying at them.

And I agree, the app drawer missing on first power on was annoying, and I don't even remember what I did to make it show up.

That's my worry that there isn't a protective film on the back, and we will end up having to use alcohol to get the SKU sticker off. And those side stickers are going to be a PITA.

for the sticker i just peeled it off. it left a lot of residue. just dabbed some oil and wiped it off with a cloth and it all just came off.

Welcome to the G6 Owner's club.

I ended up leaving the side stickers on the device as they are just covered up by my case.
I also removed the back sticker and installed a protective shield which prevents scratches from particles that enter the case.
