The Evo vs The Evo Shift!

I'm sticking with the Evo. I hate slide out keyboards and all that they drive me insane. Plus I've fallen madly in love with this beastly phone.

Forget that physical and aesthetic reasons...I will seriously consider this for the sake of the speed...

I'll keep the EVO. No need to step down and use a physical plastic keyboard that just adds more bulk to the phone. Plus those keyboard phones seem to be aimed at teenagers.

Also people (myself included) who like to email from their phone. I rarely send emails from my Hero, but I never thought twice about it when I had my Curve.

Although now that I have Swype, I don't miss my physical keyboard as much!

But I agree, if you don't text or email a lot, physical keyboard is likely not as high on your priorities.

when it comes down to it... I dont use my EVO like I should

the lack of Physical Keyboard stops me from Txting / Emailing

Hence the need to retain my blackberry...

Yea Im that guy... The one with 2 phones at all times

Lol, I use to say the same thing about my palm pre. Now I have an open mind to all devices. However, the shift hasn't impress me yet. Waiting for the prize fight on both phones.

Ps. My vote goes for the EVO. Yea!!!!

HA! me too... then the hp/palm thing happened and now all my buddies have moved to android.

I wonder how good the multitasking in on android? I use the webOS multitasking everyday, all day

It just seems to be the alternative to those who require a physical keyboard to the EVO. I like the looks of the phone.

I'm probably gonna sell my evo, use a family members upgrade, get the shift then if September rolls around and there is another aging phone ill use my upgrade...

I love the evo now that I put a custom senseless rom on it. But I will use my airrave line upgrade to get this. Then I'll just swap when I feel like it.

How does that work? Upgrading the airave line? My airave says its eligible but I kinda need the airave lol

Here's my thoughts about the evo and the shift,

The shift is more like the hero with a ton of updates to it to make it current.

The evo is more of a different class and I think at CES we will see a update to it that will land in June/july.

They are taking cues from Verizon with naming, instead of hero evo speedy and so on like they were doing. They are probably going to have any HTC android phones named evo so they can get a brand going.

And to anyone who pre ordered, wait CES hasn't even started.

I'll be waiting until the end of CES to see which, if any, dual core or EVO 2 - like phone with amazing specs get announced for Sprint. If not, I will probably be getting the EVO Shift. Coming from a hero, this would be a huge upgrade. I miss my physical keyboard from my phone before the hero LG Rumor (I text alot). I am bummed about the 4G $10 charge and no FFC. However, I could always get a new phone next january.

I feel the same way. I know when the dual core phones are released it will be awhile before they really have any advantage over a single core phone so unless a new high end Sprint phone is announced and released very shortly(which I doubt since there have been no leaks of any kind that I know of) I will be going with the Shift and then hopefully keeping it for a year and a half to get on the June 2012 upgrade schedule if Sprint sticks with summer as their flagship phone launch period.

There's no way I'm giving up my screen real estate. It's early and I have no doubt there will be something bigger and badder on Sprint by this summer.

That's what I'm hoping for, after briefly trying the EPIC(fail) I went back to the EVO much to my wifes dismay as she lost the EVO and took the EPIC. It still irritates her. LOL.

I'm a pimp for 4.3 inch screens.

Now if HTC can bump up the screen quaility and dual core it with a super small battery with extra long life I'll be happy. Ha
