The first firmware ever that came with the phone

Hi. I have the Galaxy S5. It is an SM 900FQ model. I recently updated my firmware but now my phone is getting hotter and hotter. My phone slips through my hands because of sweat caused by the heat. This problem wasn't present before the update. I want to roll back to the first firmware that came from the factory. It came as Lollipop 5.0, not KitKat 4.4.2. I remember that it hasn't had Smart Manager App (appeared after the update) and Stagefrighter vulnerability was also present. How can I determine which firmware version is the first one that came with this phone? Thank you.

EDIT

G900FQ is La Fleur, carrier model, Turkey. So, probably, either the OA2, OC2 or OF1 firmwares for Android 5.0, here.

Thank you for your reply. Yes, you are right. Though I still don't know which is my stock one among these three firmwares. Only way to know for sure is flash and see or else?

They are all the firmwares for your phone and should be before Smart Manager. Flash and see.

I tried the first one but it was very old, not my stock one. I am using OC2 now which is the second released update and looks more familiar but the device repeatedly asks to update firmware even if I uncheck auto updates immediately after flashing ! It drives me nuts. How can I make it to not check firmware updates??

Try wiping the cache and data for the the auto updater app, as per #1.5 of S5 Lollipop Update Problems - Dummies Guide

On a personal note, I would try, once again, accepting those updates as they contain important Android security updates that your present, year old, firmware does not have. If you still find the same issue, you can always flash back.

I tried the latter by resetting the device to factory settings (and wipe data/cache) when it was at the latest firmware but no avail. It was still heating up as never before. This is not a problem for the current firmware.

Now, it asks me to download the latest firmware but it doesn't download without my permission. It just asks over and over for my permission. But my fear is that at some point, it will stop asking for my permission and go ahead and update. I read tons of topics about it. I'm clueless. Maybe I should try the third firmware...

Well, unfortunately I made a quick and wrong statement about the heating because it is still getting hot now. I tried the third firmware over the second released but still the same problem. I even flashed 4.4.2 KitKat which is the current version I use now and it still gets hot !!! By hot I mean, I can't hold my S5 properly in my hands because the phone gets oil like and slips through my hands. I think the heat is the cause of this. What do you guys think about it? The ambient temperature is same as before. This absolutely wasn't a problem before I updated my firmware (DAMN ME!). Before AND after flashing, I always do wipe cache partition AND wipe data/factory reset. Don't these procedures delete everything and start from scratch? I suspect something is still left in my phone from the firmware update. Could this be possible? I am open to suggestions.

Edit: Is it possible that my device came with another country's stock ROM? It is an international model. I bought it directly from one of Samsung's official distributors.

Try running your phone in Safe Mode, (#1.4 of S5 Lollipop Update Problems - Dummies Guide), for a few hours and see if the overheating still occurs. Alternatively, you can perform a Full Wipe+Factory Data Reset as per #2.3, #2.4, #2.5 and #2.6 of the aforementioned guide.

By carrier model, you mean like it is a TMobile or Sprint model in the US? If so, La Fleur is not a mobile company. Because in topic you linked, I see only mobile communication companies' devices. I don't know why Samsung picked this codename (it is a cool codename though ). I saw many posts that the S5 users from my country can able to flash the UK stock roms for example without problems. So I thought it is the international model with a different codename. But of course, I maybe wrong.

I see. Yes, some users needed to install local modem files separately over the UK rom in order to get stable network connectivity. It would be good to know that what are the main differences between F and FQ models though.

By the way, I have been using my phone for over an hour in Safe Mode but it seems it has no effect regarding to overheating. Before putting in Safe Mode, I did all wipe procedures and revert back to factory settings. I didn't even log into the internet, either via WiFi or Mobile Data. Last of all, I deactived the stock apps that can be deactivated. There is only one app page now. The device becomes too oily too quick than before. It sucks really. Hell I even suspected myself and I washed my hands many times until bubbling but no effect lol.

Also, I am now using KitKat version BUT the power off charging animation is still from Lollipop ! How could this be? Doesn't wipe do its part? What does that mean? See the link below:

If you are experiencing overheating problems on stock firmware that is running in Safe Mode, then it is far more likely that you have a hardware problem such as, but not exclusively, water damage or possibly a motherboard or battery issue. You should get it checked out as soon as possible at a Samsung or other qualified, service point.

I will try another battery and charger later. Samsung Service Point in Turkey is very unqualified. They said it is impossible to downgrade among Lollipop versions, let alone KitKat by me or them. Can't risk my device to their hands. It is much more likely something went wrong after the firmware update. It would be no surprise either that they messed up the firmware with that incapability. Before that, everything was working absolutely smooth and cool. I suspect something from the latest firmware is still somewhere in the device. Like bootloader and animations as you said. I just wanted to make/receive clearer and higher sound phone calls by updating the firmware but the outcome amazes me. Oh well...
