Wow...!

Honestly, a big part of holding off on the S20 was cause of the problems with the FPS. So happy Samsung updated it in the S21.

Between this and face unlock, the S21+ will be ready for the COVID/mask world we're in.

It was for me when I set it up on a demo. I took it off but had to try it out. Was very impressed by the responsiveness. Just hope a glass screen protector doesn't demish the function.

I gave up with the FPS on the Note 20 Ultra, worst FPS I've ever used. Even the bad one where you had to slide your finger across the home button on the Note 4 works better.

So I'm glad to hear it's been improved.

This recent security update for S20 Note seems to have learned a trick or two because it is better, faster and more reliable.

But better fsp is or was one of the things i was hoping to see.

Dry weather has meant having to use an ointenment for severely dry skin. Helps a lot, was having trouble with recognizing fingerprints.

True. Especially in terms of glass. My fingerprint scanner worked better with invisible shield hybrid protector than it does with tempered glass, but it's still usable for me so I can deal with the trade off.

I think its always better without a screen protector

I just read that some are having issues with the sensor??? Saying things like it is no better than last years????
I can appreciate that it may well be better than last years but that looks to me like some type of camera trick. I find it hard to believe that ANY fingerprint sensor can read a print that fast, or that lightly touched. If it can then it seems like it would be easy to fool! :-

When I sampled the fps it was very fast and accurate as I tried other fingers and it never unlocked. I registered both my index fingers and any other fingers I tried it would instantly give an error. I do understand that everyones prints aren't easily read as others, but based on my short observation this is the best in display fingerprint Samsung has released to date.

Yea this FPS is the best under display one I've tested.

If it's asleep it takes about 1 second to work. But when the screen is on its near instant.

I'm doing this as I type. It's really fast. A slight touch and it unlocks.

But I always do 2 fingerprints of the same finger. Being sure to spin the phone so it's at every angle registered
