This is not really "news", TBH. Anyone who has owned a couple or more recent S Pen enabled devices can tell you that when you have a magnetic accessory such as MagSafe accessories or even kickstands with an embedded magnet (like the Spigen U101/U102), you will get dead zones adjacent to the magnets when using the S Pen.

This is not news at all. It's a well known issue, and definitely not a one off. It is an inherent technical challenge between the S Pen functionally and use of magnetic accessories, that in my opinion should just be accepted as what it is without expectation of some innovative solution or retooling of Wacom EMR technology, as they will sooner quote the "percentage of users" that use the S Pen at all versus the utility of MagSafe accessories.

In my experience (with my S4 Ultra) it's not really a big problem in practice. Magsafe-type cases don't cause a problem at all until you add a magnetic accessory. If it's my car charger, for example, I wouldn't be using my S Pen with it anyway. If it's a kickstand, ring-grip, or wallet then I just remove it while I use the S Pen. It's not ideal but I can certainly live with it.
