Alright so obviously we are all psyched that this phone is finally, FINALLY official. However I am feeling very anxious because I have a feeling not all of us who waited so patiently (or not so patiently) will get our hands on this device Thursday. The Best Buy that I pre-ordered at sold out of the iPad 2 in TEN MINUTES. Now I know Apple has a ton of fanboys/girls (especially in NYC) but I am having visions of that same store having the same lines Thursday. Then it will be another 2 or 3 weeks because all stores "won't know when we are getting our next shipment." I'm coming from a Storm 1 and can't wait to get my hands on my first Android!!

So with that - what's everyone's gameplan for Thursday???

My VZW store told me they'd have "about 20" so I'm gonna show up about 30 min before they open. If I'm more than 20 deep in a line (doubt it), I'll call up VZW or go online. Should have it the next day if that's the case.

So what's this I hear that Verizon planned to only sell the Bolt in "a limited amount." And I'm talking about in general, not just on Day 1. If they viewed this phone to be flagship, why wouldn't it be full production??

The best part about working at Best Buy, is that i show up 5 min before we open, go in and and process my order/get my phone, before anyone else gets in :) Thats the Gameplan

My theories. A) Create hype by having it sell out (ala BB Storm 1). B) Last minute hardware (or software, I suppose) change forced small initial shipments.

Well... just got back from my local Verizon store. I asked about pre-orders or making appointments. No pre-ordering for me... but I spoke to the manager who took my number and said I will have no problem getting a phone on Thursday. He said to ask for him when I get to the store and he would take care of me and make sure I get one...... good to go:p

I will be ordering online whenever it goes up. Hopefully 3:00 AM. I was going to go into the store but I am not the account holder. I am however, an account manager but I don't know the billing password on our account. So I don't think I can get it in the store.

If the account holder added you as an authorized user you could go in and pick it up

That's what I thought. I was added as an account manager, is that the same thing? I have to go past my store tomorrow so I'm going to stop in and find out.

There was a serious issue with the hand over from 3G to LTE. It would not work if not totally crash. This was not a device issue, but rather a network issue. I have an e-mail from HTC stating this fact. The problem was: VZW didn't 'engineer' LTE so it required a TON of work to resolve it, and a lot of man power.

I'm getting a car stereo installed Thursday morning at 10:15AM EST that has a VZW store within walking distance that opens at 9AM. I figure I'll just stroll in around opening time and walk out with a new device in my hand that I can take pictures of my subwoofers with :) before my stereo appointment!

Well I was going to wait until lunch (11 am CDT) to go pick one up, but I stopped by the Verizon store that is closest to where I work tonight and they said that they can't reserve one or hold one.

I guess they are going to have around 20 or so as well and they have a guy switching his lines from AT&T at 11 am. So I usually get into work at 7 so I'm going to take a "break" at 8:45 and get my Thunderbolt since they said it would only take about 15 to 20 minutes.

My store that I usually use opens at 9 a.m. I tend to be there at 8:30 a.m.

However I did run into a Verizon Authorized Retailer manager today while in BB and she took my number and claimed she would hold one for me if I used her store. She is supposed to text/call me if she can.

Waittttt a second!! I am on a family plan and I'm not the account manager. That means I can't upgrade???!!!

My old man is the acct manager, but he has the same exact name as me. So I can just pretend I'm him buying the phone for me hahaha

The Verizon store nearest where I work opens at 8am, and I normally walk right by it on my way to work, usually around 7:15am. I'll probably just get in line then even if I'm the only one and hang out until they open.

There's no way I want to risk not getting one on launch day after waiting all this time and going through all the release date thrashing!

My local VZW store is a good 40 minutes away (hooray for living in the sticks?) so I'll be one of those waking up early to order online. Not very exciting OR speedy, but hey - I've waited this long.

I can't officially upgrade until next Thursday, but I'm gonna check at the store tomorrow if they can bump that up for me a week. If not, I guess I'll just order it online next week.
