Hello !
The ringtone I want to use is not found in “music on device”

when I go to audio files, it’s there,
it’s even there twice since I copied it on both internal storage and memory card in folders where other mp3 of mine are found by “music on device” for ringtone selection
but this one does not show !
I can play it, no problem

On the internal storage I have copied it in a ringtones folder where two mp3 I created to use in whatsapp are stored, they are now listed on the ringtones list - dunno how they got there !

So I tried to set this ghost tone in whatsapp, but this did not work either, it’s just-not-found !

Why is that ? What can I do ? Any ideas anyone ?

hello Scienceguy Labs, thanks for coming back to me !

it's a mp3 as stated
but I now know what happens... though I do not understand it
when I created the file, I named the project "new ring"
I then placed it on the phone to test it
all went well but for the most frustrating time when the ringtone continuously kept going back to default after some time - seems I now have this sorted out

then I decided to keep "new ring" and renamed the file
in "audio files" it shows under the new name, but as I checked it before answering your post... I noticed that when it plays it's "new ring" which shows on the play window !!!
so when I try to find it under it's actual name, it's not there... but "new ring", yes !
pfftttt !
