Remember me mentioning the "God" Phone that's supposed to come later this year? I've been hearing it mentioned in other forums very sporadically. Not much is known about it. But the one thing I heard consistently about the device is that it WILL be released in December. I've even heard one little birdie say that it may come to Verizon but take it with a grain of salt. Oh yeah, it will have FroYo on release!

Android Superphone

Every spec about this phone will put every Android phone to date to shame. The reason why I passed on the Incredible and Evo.

The battery will be horrid and by the time it comes out Evo owners will be eligible for another upgrade since Sprint allows it once a year (if it ever comes on Sprint)

Two things to note, December is less than a year and Android doesn't release one phone on 2 different carriers. Nice try though. ;-)

If they're going to have that powerful of a phone, it needs to be dual processor to save juice or just a gigantic battery. Plus if this "superphone" does come to Verizon, it still won't have 4G =P

They're saying on DroidForums that this phone is the Motorola Droid Pro. My annual upgrade is in January so I'll be checking this out. If it blows my Droid away completely and lives up to the hype, I might get it. From what it looks like, it definitely looks superior to the Droid X and Droid 2.

it is most likely the droid pro. and i am assuming Motorola's newfound alliance with Verizon that it will be a Verizon exclusive. i am so psyched about this and this will be my new phone the moment i am able to early upgrade and it is released. As for battery life, i am sure Motorola is not going to give a standard battery because if the battery life was bad then it would not sell as many as they are hoping it will. they are a business and the have made mistakes in the past but i think those days are behind them.

The Samsung Galaxy S is going to ship to 110 different countries and let me tell you, Verizon isn't going to be the wireless sugar daddy for each of those countries. If we're talking US only with multiple carriers, the Nexus One was going to work with T-Mobile, AT&T and Verizon but Verizon dropped (as we all know.)

If they all release with the same name, slap me silly...

Until then, slap yourself. ;-)

they can put the best spec phone on any carrier if it is not a sprint 4g phone it is a no go and why i say that is because i want my data the fastest because that is where things become annoying the slower it is the more annoying the phone is ... yea gameing will be cool on a 2GHZ phone and im sure it will sell big time but in my opinion if it does not have 4G I wouldnt even look at it

I'm hoping that AT&T gets a GSM version of the new Droid 2.

Verizon would never let that happen. The deal they have worked out with motorola is probably similar as the one apple has with at&t. Look at the original droid and the motorola milestone. Similar phones but the droid dominates. Plus verizon would never let motorola make a flagship phone like that for their competitor. Never going to happen.

I'd have to agree with Brett. Verizon has a very good relationship with Motorola and even expanding that, also with Google/Android. Doesn't HTC have something with Verizon too?

Verizon also has rights to the "Droid" name (permission from Lucas Arts) so any phone labeled Droid will not be on another network.

I don't see myself buying an HTC Android phone in the near future. I don't know, I've never liked their devices...always seemed shoddy...and it looks like I'm right after hearing about all of the Evo and Incredible issues. I think I'll be sticking with Motorola. My Droid is rock solid.

Wow, that sucks! Too bad AT&T will never get a decent Android phone. It mght be time to switch carriers!

Just because it won't have the "Droid" name,
doesn't mean it will not be released on another
carrier, with a different name.

Example: Droid & Milestone
