The HTC One will do much better than the S4.....

But for the last 2 years who has a better track record than Samsung???? U give them no credit for they products and put all they success for selling well on marketing... Thats like a artist u can't just have a record company push his music everywhere promote him, bash other artist and your music is crap...Samsung starting a good thing with the originally galaxy and the s2 showed its another nice product on this earth besides iPhone.... Every person I no that switch from android to iPhone that's bashing android now was all pre 2011 customers and u no what company drove them to apple....HTC original Evo Evo 3d my touch etc was so buggy, over heating, crashing, falling apart droves tons of ppl away I almost jumped ship until I discovered the s2, Samsung is self made...give them some credit lol

It seems like the S2 is were Samsung really took off. I don't remember the original Galaxy S being that popular. I had a Mytouch 4G and a Nexus One and both were excellent phones.

I truly believe that the HTC One will do much better than the S4 so long as the software updates are put out at the same rate as the S4. I hope HTC has learned from their past. I am loving this phone. Reading the S4 reviews, I think it is pretty obvious that I made the right choice. Paying extra money for the name was not worth it. I put my money on the proper phone.

No way in bloody hell will HTC do better than Samsung. We are not the average consumer; most of us do research and know about the products we are buy. Most average consumers buy either what their friends have, what they saw on TV, or is shiny. Samsung pours crazy amounts of money into advertising, and is basically the new Apple. Personally, I think the GS4 should be called the GS3GS. But anyway, Samsung will obliterate the HTC One in sales.

Its a shame HTC marketing is so awful (that advert is unbelievably poor)as the phones are pretty much equal in terms of everyday use... Unless you want to sit waving at your phone or staring at it until your eyes bleed trying to get it to scroll.

Some people like that over random bits of useless news every time you turn your phone screen on or speakers that break so easily.

See, I can make stuff seem less impressive than it actually is too.

But I wouldn't call HTC's marketing awful, I would just say they need to do a much better job of actually showing what the phone can do, instead of spending a whole commercial making vague statements about the speakers being on the front of the phone now which isn't anything new.

What you people don't get is that quality of S4 is better then One. Its already been said in reviews before. The reason why S4 looks almost the same as S3 is because S3 has a great and reliable design that people like. I personally don't want a phone like N4 or One, they are simply not durable for daily use. (I have N4 now and love it a side from glass)

I know that I sound like I am trying to bash One, but I am not. There are people that like something shiny and different, and there are others that want a quality, durable, plastic phone that feels great in hand and doesn't not scratch or break easy.

When I recommend N4 to others (because its such a nice phone), I always warn them about glass back and phone must be in case 90% of its time. When I hold N4 and Gnex next to each other I also cannot say that Gnex is cheap......its not cheap, its quality plastic......cheap was original Galaxy phone that you had to cover up with case.

Well what most people don't get is that build quality is much more than just the materials used. I tried out my friend's S3 as she needed me to show her a few things plus she always has me taking pictures with it since I'm the one with the photography skill in our group of friends and I love how it feels and knowing that the S4 is pretty much the same is good for me.

Too the "common folk", meaning the typical non-tech customer, all the "gimmicks" of the S4 that will be shown on the new ad's etc will be more of a "WOW THAT'S COOL!" to 99% of the consumers looking at phones.

The only bad part is that then they actually try using those cool gimmicks and can't get them to actually work. I tried on a co-workers S4 and the air swipe thing didn't work and reports are that the video eye-tracking doesn't work in any apps except the Samsung video player.

Then you just have to hope they don't look at them side by side, because while the blacks are excellent on the S4, but the whites are seriously not white. Don't try holding up your S4 to any commputer screen either, that's just a recipe for dissappointment. On the other hand, I hold up my One to any computer screen and it makes the computer look terrible.

That's not to say I think the One will do a lot better than the S4, I think it will be competitive, but Samsung has like 4 other phones to cater to different types, Note, Mega, Mini. In the end one great phone doesn't solve a company's problems, but a whole series of them might, we'll have to see what happens next year if HTC can outdo themselves and Samsung again, then maybe word of mouth gets around that HTC does good stuff. I'll keep trying.

Hahaha you are so clueless. The s4 is less durable than the s3. Go read the news.

As for OP, I think the s4 is going to kill the one in terms of sales.

If you're so sure, why not post this "news" yourself then?

It has been all over the news for the past week. I trust results from square trade, it is in their best interest to accurately asses these phones.

Here you go:

Was that so hard? :P

Though I definitely find myself disagreeing with a few points they make in this article.

The first galaxy was not a very good phone at all, that's the phone that turned me off to Samsung. Samsung was once a nothing, nobody also, but you're right they are self made. As for the artist comparison, you're kind of wrong there. Ever heard of kreayshawn, ke$ha, or 2 chains? Haha their music sounds like a$$, but it gets pushed and they sell millions. But that's irrelevant haha.

Also, I don't think we will have to worry about Samsung dominating the android market for too long. I bet in a few years after continued growth they will put out phones with their own OS and get rid of android all together

I don't want to give you the wrong idea, I don't think the s4 is a giant pos. I don't care about breakability when deciding on a phone these days.

I only am bringing this up because people (like kolyan2k ) the are going around saying the opposite. It rubs me the wrong way.

There is so much wrong with this post...I want to comment on it all but it may give me a headache lol

Please indulge me. If Samsung was selling 50 million units before hand on any other phone let me know. The fact that the original galaxy wasn't that great, not really that off. If you like 2 chains, well good for you.

I dont feel like indulging you. I just found it humorous you think samsung will ditch android for its own os.

Fair enough.

Ha! A new OS for 'high end smartphones' with 'thousands of apps'...lol talk about a rumor mill.

So this shiny new os is gonna get a high enough adoption rate for samsung to get rid of android altogether? Interesting...TELL ME MORE!! :p

The S4 is an excellent phone in its own right, and is going to sell extremely well. Samsung has effective ads, is a known brand name in TVs and other areas as well as phones, and the S4 provides more of the same features that made the S3 so popular. I don't see any way the HTC will outsell it.

Having said that, I myself preferred the HTC One, and I think it will do very well for HTC and, I hope, get it back into the thick of things where it can continue to pressure Samsung and Apple to innovate and make better devices. I think it'll also be popular with people looking to get out of the iOS rut but wanting similar hardware look and feel as the iPhone.

When several companies are fighting it out to make the best premium devices then we consumers benefit because we'll get multiple excellent choices. And, with t-mobile putting more pressure to offer decent unlimited data plans at a reasonable price we may actually get some options on that side of things as well!
