The LED notification is back

They have 3rd party apps that allow you to customize the color of each apps color...

All I see is an ugly notch and an LED so small that you'd barely notice it.

The notch can be turned off. If you think about it, the V20 has a notch too, just on the top right. Smaller LED is better, consumes less power.

I haven't used a notification LED on a phone since August of 2013.

Cause' they took them out (not for Samsung though). Moto had it but it was turned off by Google because Google wanted to use their own thing.

It's not something I would use. I haven't had an LED notification light since I last used a Blackberry 9700.

Makes sense for the G7 since it's entirely LCD. The AOD on LCD isn't the best.

Not by default but you can download a 3rd party app that allows you to.. I've tried it and it works great, better than the default.

The V20 added extra screen area, not take anything away from the main screen (not to mention a truly unique functionality). The front facing camera, and sensors were up there anyway, so it would've had more blank space without the secondary screen.

As for LED power consumption, they use next to nothing anyway and it's not on all the time. I've used phones with that type LED notification before and it sucks because it's so small and dim. You could greatly increase the brightness and size with negligible effect on the battery and it would be functional.
