Lollipop 5.0.2 broke my 3G connectivity

Hey Guys, I had a Nexus 7 2012 with 3G working fine on 4.4.4. I decided to update it to 5.0.2. After that, 3G network stop working. I found out in some other sites that it looks like 5.0.2 is only working on WIFI models, not 3G.
Now, I'd like to restore 4.4.4 but can't seem to find the right zip file to do it. I managed to install TWRP and NRT v2.8. I get USB connectivity OK but when I try to flash the ROM, I always get the error "error executing updater binary in zip", no matter which ROM I use. I tried the ROM from Google and from CM 11 4.4 as well.
I'm sure I'm doing something wrong but can't figure out what it is.
I'd very much appreciate your help.
Thanks

Martin.

Welcome to Android Central! Just to be sure--you installed the 5.0.2 ROM specific to your 2012 N7 with 3G, right? Not for any other N7s?
