With the lack of a headphone jack and SD card support on the Mate 10 Pro I am really happy I grabbed the Mate 9 at $400.
It's not bordering... Especially the pro... It's at the iPhone and Samsung pricesYes, these seem very expensive. I understand that you're getting a lot of phone but it's bordering on iPhone/Samsung prices.
I mostly love the Pro. Lack of Always On Display is a bummer, I'd have liked wireless charging too but that's no biggy. Headphone jack isn't even a problem for me as I mostly use Bluetooth headphones and have one good pair of wired which I can easily leave the adaptor attached too. Lack of expandable storage doesn't bother me as 64gb on board and plenty cloud storage sees me alright.
Whatever happened to the Mate 10 Lite that also leaked online lately?
Did the announce that it won't have a "always on display"?
There are a couple Always on Display apps in the app store. Used to use one with my Honor 8
How well did they work? Did they use a lot of battery since the honor 8 has an LCD?

if the 10 Pro is selling for $900 I'll keep my Mate 9. Can't see paying that much for a flagship that I may only keep for a year. Mid grade devices are looking better every time a flagship is released
That they are. And the increases are really incremental at this point. Imo, these are mainly for those who must have the latest and greatest. Otherwise, you can save yourself a lot of money and pick up a mid range or a previous flagshipI'm in the same boat. Flagships are getting crazy expensive. Mid rangers are looking better and better.
Yeah just like the honor 8.Mid rangers can perform really well in every day tasks with no problem.
