The Moto Droid 3 - what features do you want on it?

D3- 4" screen, physical qwerty, front and rear cam, dual core, 4g, global capable, hdmi out, and toss in some new toys!

I've been hacking the hell out of my original Droid (extended battery, gingerbread-based cyanogenmod rom) while holding out for a Droid 3. Here's my wishlist:
- 1GHz + processor
- At least 8GB of internal memory, with no hard limit on how much can be used for app installs
- 4" screen, but form factor still fits existing Droid multimedia docks

And though I don't think it will happen, I'd love to see stock android and an un-encrypted bootloader.

I concur. Atrix, on VZW, with a keyboard would be the ultimate phone. So, add a keyboard, put it on verizon and call it the droid3, please!

Especially for someone like me, in law enforcement, having a device pull triple duty as phone/netbook/pc would be amazing. Especially when I start taking online classes. If the atrix were to come to VZW as is, I'll still get one, but giving it a keyboard would make it even more perfect.

What I would like to see for the Moto Droid 3

I would like to see the Droid 3 have a 2ghz dual processor. I Gig of ram. At least 32 gigs or more (64 gigs, if possible) of internal memory. A 32 gig micro SD card slot, (again 64 gigs, if possible). 8 mp front facing camera. 12 mp rear facing camera. 4.5" screen or larger. HDMI out. Loaded with Gingerbread. Netflix as one of the bloatware programs. A slide out keyboard. Global ability. Plus all the specs that the D2 Global already has. Can you say, "Up in the sky, it's a bird, it's a plane, no it's SuperDroid."

the Droid 3 should include:
Hardware Improvements
Software Improvements
* Form FactorMaintain current size, but change the form factor [Same qwerty keyboard]. It should not have a Chin. Relocate the haptics down a little bit to accomodate for a 4" screen
* sLCD extends closer to the edge of the device (less black space)
* No screen spacing removal of all space between LCD and gorilla glass
* QHD display (960 x 540) 24Bit color 12:1 sub pixel ratio
* 5MP Front facing camera (greatly improved optics and software, similar to the Xperia ARC) ARC camera demonstration
* 8MP rear facing camera (same optics improvements mentioned before) one of moto's current failures
* LTE radio
* Simultaneous Voice and Data
* Pentaband radio for a world edition simultaneous release
* Tegra 2 Processor (2x 1GHz processors)
* Dual Channel
* 1800 mah battery
* DLNA
* USB 3.0 support
* Bluetooth 3.0 Support
* Gyroscope
* DDR2 support or greater
* 1GB of RAM
* Fingerprint recognition
* 3 Microphones similar to the Droid X
* Ear piece speaker grill similar to the HTC Droid Incredible to prevent dust build-up under the screen
* FM Radio i'll never use it, but what the heck "Droid does"
* Multiple Upgrade route (Polished Blur [slow] vs Vanilla Android with working parts [faster] on demand swappable)
* NFC chip
* HDMI out
* 16GB on board memory
* Corning Gorilla Glass
* Easy access micro SD card (dont have to remove the battery)
* Android 3.X Ice Cream Sandwich
* Wifi direct
* Better iteration of Blur (deal with it guys, stock isnt an option anymore)
* 4G mobile hotspot
* Webtop compatibility
* Unlockable Bootloader
* 64GB micro SD support 8GB pre-installed

Could there be anymore in one device?

...etc.

I wish you worked for Motorola, but I'm afraid you don't... :(

The next phone I imagine buying has:

- At least a 4" screen
- Dual-core Nvidia Tegra 2 3d (honestly though, only glassless 3d like the 3ds)
- IR Blaster (to use as a tv remote, like sometime coming Vizio phone
- At least 1 gb DDR2 RAM
- 720p video is fine, as long as its smooth as silk
- Rest of hardware at least Droid X specs

What I would realistically see this phone have whatever chipset the Droid x has 5 my camera hopefully with improved quality no ffc or lte global, if the dx doesn't have lte I doubt it for this. 4 inch screen hopefully with qhd resolution. But I would love to see the atrix without webtop and with a keyboard offered on vzw

Bigger Screen
Slimmer form factor (like the X) while still retaining a slide out qwerty keyboard (have no idea how they'd do that though)
4G/LTE
2GHZ+ processor
Better Battery
HDMI Out
2 Micro SD Card Slots
Global Capabilities
Front and Rear facing Higher Res, Lower Lux Camera

I went from a D1 to an Incredible. I really like the feel/look of the Incredible, but also loved how the D1 felt and looked. I just wanted the 1ghz awesomeness. I'd like to go back to a Droid 3 if it was dual core with a front facing cam and came with more onboard storage! If it was possible to make it thinner, that would be awesome too.

Dual core 1.2 ghz processor
4.3 inch qHD display
Full qwerty keyboard with numbers row
2 mp front-facing camera
8 mp rear-facing camera
1 gb ram
2 gb rom
16 gb on board storage
pre installed 32 gb mirco sd card
lte connectivity
kick stand
huge speaker
included headphones
$299.99 or less on 2 year contract

+Fits in someone's pocket other than Captain Kangaroo's
+Weighs less than one pound

since they brought something to the table with the droid but not with the droid 2, they better bring something for the droid 3. Since there are SO many different android phones, what if Moto made a droid 3(let's just call it the Moto Transformer lol) That can actually physically change shape and change software (choice of user). NOW THAT WOULD BE EPIC. Imagine the xoom commercial where the guy scrunches up the laptop into the xoom but instead of the laptop, it was a phone. THINK ABOUT IT!

dual core. 1080p. 4.3 8 or 10 mp is fine. lte. wifi calling stock would be great. and some screen that can start hanginh with the retna display. possible to get smothness of android such as ios? played with i phone tonight and every movement is flawless not to mention the keyboard. how bout equivalent keyboard similiar to iphone. trust me cant really stand iphone cept for those few. non exsistent buttons like the zoom would be pretty sweet on a phone too.

I made some alterations to my previous list that result in a more future proof device that everyone wouldn't be able to debate is the best of the best.
