The Nexus 6 is the best android flagship phone you can buy.

I like the fact that Jerry finds faults with the Nexus 6 but can see past those and come to this conclusion...... And I agree....5.1.1 has been great, I'm back to the stock messenger app as new there are no issues with it (for me )....I just love the idea that I'll get the updated quickly..... I love this device

After experimenting I've had better success with the camera too. Still not as stupid proof as the note 4 camera, but I'm please with it. The rest of the phone kicks ***.

Mines about 2 months old now, and if I were buying today I'd get the N6 again, for most of the same reasons Jerry outlines in the article.

I have the blue one and I would buy the white one if I had the money :) fantastic software experience makes this phone one of a kind.

I have a love/hate relationship with the size. I do find carrying it around to be a bit of a hassle. But everything else - perfect, perfect, perfect! Maybe one day they'll invent a phone you can stretch and crumple up like Play Doh...

Btw, totally agree it's the best Android phone right now - maybe of all time.

I've had mine for about six weeks now and in no ways do I regret my purchase decision. This is, hands down, the best Android phone I've used to date and I've used quite a few of them. The overall user experience outweighs, to me at least, it's few short comings.

I'm probably one of the few people I know who actually like the size of the device. The larger screen is awesome and the fact that it is rather large provides a better separation for the front facing stereo speakers.

Going back to even 5.7 inch screen is going to be tough. Love the big sized screen. Hoping the next Nexus won't shrink the size down to 5.7 :(

From the sound of it, Huawei is going with 5.7 as it might be using the Samsung AMOLED screen used in the Note 4. No R&D costs or additional tooling, just off the shelf parts to keep the price down.

If prefer it to be 6... I got used to that size, but the panel in the Note 4 is top notch, so that's fine. I'll be passing on it if it's a 810 though, that SoC is a dog.

Wasn't there a rumor early this year (before all the flap about the 810's hellspawn status) about Motorola working on a new 5.9 phablet with the 810?

Course if it's a Droid, it'll be a Verizon exclusive anyway and be missing one front-facing speaker, which will bite. But if it's not a Droid, it could save us from a life without a 6" display. Which will also bite.

I thought I heard a rumor the 2015 x is supposed to be 5.7, haven't heard anything about another 6"er

I found two versions of the article I was thinking of. They're from early December 2014:

Motorola DROID Phablet with 5.9-Inch Display, Snapdragon 810 CPU and 4GB RAM in the Works - Softpedia

Motorola might be prepping a Nexus 6-like DROID phablet with Snapdragon 810 and 4GB RAM for 2015

What's the story with Huawei's speaker placement? I too am wary of the 810, honestly. The possible use of the Note 4 panel is a plus, as well as the supposed 3,500 mAh battery capacity. It would be a waste to have a crap speaker with those specs. If that's the case, I'll stick with the 6, until the SD 820 is out.

The thing I like best about the Nexus 6 is the size. Now if Moto makes a 5.7 X then that will be the new "Best flagship" Android phone in my opinion. Moto X has the best software of any phone available, just needs to be bigger.......

I have said this many times before. But this time I mean it...I think. I won't be ditching my Nexus 6 anytime soon. I will keep it at least a year.

Hmm, not sure I'll be getting either of the next crop of Nexus phones, since both companies employ rear-facing mono speakers.

I love mine and plan on keeping it until Fall of 2016 at least. I don't think there could be enough improvement at this stage of smart phone development to warrant a change.

Many complain about the size, and it is a valid complaint but the shape really makes up for the size. It is quite pocketable considering it's size. The Blackberry Passport is smaller than the Nexus 6 but the shape of the Passport is not very pocketable. The sharp, pointy corners of the Passport do not sit well in a pocket at all. That's the main reason I sold my Passport. The N6 has the right shape to slide in and out of most pockets with ease. After having used just about all of the Android phones available for 2015, the N6 is the best Android experience currently available for me.
