The Note has replaced my iPhone!

...this is like chess! I have one move left with AT&T (i.e. I can only change my device once; I just got my Skyrocket a few weeks ago) and I'd hate to get the Note, and not get use to the size of it.

Decisions, decisions of a gadget guy! Honestly, you'd think this was life changing! :D

DAS.. you're most welcome for the guru comment, though you articulate the essence of the Note better than anyone here in this forum, hence the 'guru' tag :) What's most intriguing to me is that you truly feel the Note is a replacement for both a phone AND a tablet, which given its size, makes it the smallest tablet on the market. Are you saying you lay it down on a table much like you would a tablet and type using both hands? Seems pretty small for that, LOL.

Regardless, you've stated repeatedly that Sammy created an entirely new category of device with its launch and obviously the world agrees, though sales of the Note pale in comparison to the iPhone. But Apple has the most creative and intensive marketing of any company; the caveat is they have their hands in your pocket constantly.

I may be mistaken, but when comparing issues reported here about the Note in comparison to those on the Skyrocket, the Note appears to be a bit more stable, sans the gamma clipping issue, which is no small thing. With a screen this large, Samsung would have been best to test viewing dark videos in low light places before releasing the device. The thread about the clipping issue grows daily and its clear every device produced suffers from it. That said, its still an awesome device in many respects, but not for everyone.

I believe that people who only want a smartphone will find the size of the Note to be too big for everyday use. I believe people who only want a dedicated tablet, will find the Note to be too small. I believe people who only want a pen & notepad will find the Note impratical.

However, for that breed of consumer who wants everything in one package, and is willing to give a little here or there, the Note is perfect (5 million & counting would agree).

I keep trying to think of an anology, but I guess the closest I can come up with would be a universal remote. Universal remotes are convenient, highly functional, remove unwanted clutter, and simply provide and all-in-one solution. But the problem with a universal remote is that they do lack little things here and there that the dedicated remote is capable of doing.

In my home I have tv, vcr, blueray, stereo receiver, apple tv, & direct tv. I also have 6 remotes on my coffee table. My wife says (for her own design reaasons), "why don't we just buy a universal remote and not have so many"? My response is, no universal remote will do all the things that each individual device remote can do.

To me, the Note is the same way. No, I can't type on the Note like I can a full size tablet. I can't carry the Note like a regular smartphone. I lose screen size from that of a dedicated tablet, and I pick up size and weight from that of a dedicated smartphone. I can write on the Note, but not exactly as "fluid or zippy" as a dedicated pen & notepad. But what I do have (my wife would agree), is an all-in-one device that gives me enough of each one of those things, and does so in a nice usable package, that I am able to put down the pen & pad, and I don't need to spend seperate money for a tablet and a smartphone.

Like universal remotes; the Note is not for everyone. But for those of us that simply don't want multiple devices, it indeed, "SOLVES A PROBLEM".

I've had just about every phone under the sun these past 4 years. I get tired and need to replace my phones because I love gadgets and am a perfectionist. While no phone will ever be perfect, some have come close to "MY" definition of it and I wanted to switch over. That said...

I went from an iPhone 4 to the GNote and didnt really have shell shock from the size. I knew what I was getting into and I LOVE the screen real estate! surfing, videos, pics EVERYTHING is just nicer on a larger screen. Any bigger and I think it would be un-manageable (But thats just me).

My only gripe is with the carrier...AT&T! I got grandfathered into an UNLIMITED data plan which is awesome (especially having the GNote), but what I realized later is that they "Cap" you after a certain amount of data. I think mine was @ 7g. Once I crossed over the 7g threshold (Yes, using a note I tend to get in those ranges beascsue of the streaming and downloading and all) my speeds a painfully slow and makes you sit and wait for everything. My download speeds are on average 64k, so webpages load painfully slow.

But as for the phone... BEST PHONE EVER!! Currently rooted and running objection ROM and still play with it like the first week when I got it.

This phone is great. I switched from an iPhone 4 to this bad boy and have no regrets at all. Android fits well into my lifestyle. However, the only issue I am experiencing is that, after having dropped a dumbbell on my iPhone 4 which I was using as an iPod while weight lifting, I am having an issue with the note's size when attempting to use it as an mp3 player at the gym. Let's just say it isn't dwelling too well. Can't workout with the Note in my gym shorts LOL. Gaaaahhh, looks like I will have to shell out some extra money and get another iPod.

Great discussion going here, especially since it's evolved into the comparison of Sprint and ATT. Right now, it seems the only REAL players with LTE are ATT and Verizon, with a minor play by T Mobile. What baffles me is how Sprint will make available the new HTC EVO 4G when they don't have an LTE network yet. The phone looks very cool, but why would someone buy the Evo when they could get the OneX , Note, Vivid or Skyrocket with ATT and have amazing speed?

And today, a Korean site leaked a story about the new Sammy GS3 with an actual photo stating it will be intro'd to the UK on May 22nd. VERY sexy looking phone with a supposed screen size of 4.8".. These new device screens are slowly approaching the size of the Note!

No u didn't say that T-Mobile is ahead of sprint in lte hahahahahaha

I actually use an otterbox defender case so the added bulk and weight will make my shorts fall off lol. Also it will get in the way while weight lifting if I use a holster. However, I have picked up another mp3 player today so all is well now.

How about a new video review? Are you going to get the Note 2?

I am looking to buy the note2, and currently have an Iphone4. I so want a large screen! And some customization...

Just purchased a used note and I must say I love it. I am extremely excited about the note 2.

I currently use the iPhone 5. Love the call quality and build quality. But it is getting a little stale for me.
