The OnePlus 2 - What do you think?

Wow first thing, bro you're using the nexus 6 2014 so why you're tempted to buy OnePlus2 I can understand it 5.95inch could be the reason but then no wireless charging or fast charging no nfc and the biggest thing to consider using nexus 6 would be quick update. None of of this thing would come in oneplus 2. I'm using oneplus so I'm still thinking to go to nexus 5 2015 model which is due this year but then fingerprint on the 🔙 could be a issue not a big one but I want nexus 5 2015 model to have best spec not snapdragon 615 and all. So I'm still waiting

I've had a OnePlus One since shortly after launch and its been a decent phone. OnePlus' wrangling with Cyanogen and the somewhat spotty performance of OxygenOS (compared to CM12) is also a concern. Still, I was excited for this announcement until I looked at the details. There are a number of glaring flaws that throw the "Never Settle" idea completely out the door. In particular:

  1. No NFC - I can't imagine how anybody can ignore this feature with the popularity of Apple Pay and Google Wallet. With chip-and-pin becoming a required feature for credit card processing, people are going to be even more inclined to want to use their devices. OnePlus is targeted squarely at the enthusiast community who is probably the #1 user of this feature. Dropping it makes no sense whatsoever.
  2. No wireless charging - Not even as an option? Again, something that is billed as a "flagship killer" is going to take a lot of hits from the charging features on other devices.
  3. No Fast Charging - The battery life on the One is great, but with the new 810 processor and a smaller battery, I don't think this one is going to be even in the same league. A flagship killer shouldn't need to be plugged before the end of a full day.
  4. No QHD Display - Initial descriptions of the high contrast 1080p panel are encouraging, but with phones in the same price range starting to get QHD displays it makes this somewhat difficult to get behind. The phone has 4GB of RAM, which would be ideal for the higher resolution display.
This all comes in the light of the Moto X Pure Edition announced the same day that hits pretty much every spec out-of-the-park in comparison (fingerprint reader not withstanding). This from a company that doesn't require you to use a silly invite system, has a good track record for customer service, and even lets you customize at the factory. At a similar price-point, the OnePlus Two is hardly in the same class.

In conclusion. I think that the OnePlus One was literally a one-hit-wonder.
I 👍 with you, one ➕ one was amazing in 2014 and this one sucks, but I really want fingerprint sensor so would wait for nexus 5 2015. Hopefully it has all feature of moto x pure edition with fingerprint. Would pay 💵 💵 💵 if I have to

I completely understand that. I'm still interested to look into it, especially at the price. But I don't like the invite system either. I'd also prefer the Moto X (I think), although I'm a little worried about the camera and no OIS and the battery at 3000 mAh and that huge screen.
Yeah same here with 5.7inch will be hard to use on 📞 and plus I using oneplus so might I can adjustment

You guys do realize that the Moto X Style is only slightly larger than the OP2 right, and that also includes a larger screen and front facing speakers. Phone comparison below. I'd much rather go with the Style because you can actually buy one on release day from 3 different locations, no jumping through hoops, no games. You also get much much better customer service, and an all around better phone from a tried and true company that's been in the game for a long time.

My worry wasn't size, it was the camera. Moto will have to prove to me that it's a good shooter. They have been known to fail at that in the past. I just get this feeling that they bumped up the MPs without making it a better shooter. And no OIS worries me. But I'd absolutely rather give my money to Moto than One Plus. I don't trust that company.

DxOMark has already rated the camera right behind the S6 and Note 4. You did also say that you were worried about that huge screen. I don't trust OnePlus either lol.

Only thing I meant by huge screen is the battery with it. I have the Nexus 6 now, not like I'm not used to big screens. I just want a phone that lasts all day without me worrying about it. So I'd like to see some real world use.

I would not mind one but this stupid invite is has gone out of control, phone looks good on paper and on pics just need to see more reviews as DD's.
As for fast charging, if it's a Qualcomm processor than it will support fast charging just need the charger.

Unfortunately the OP2 doesn't have quick charging, people are saying it was a licensing issue. Mainly, oneplus didn't want to pay the necessary amount for t to be included.

When I first saw OP2 I was impressed about its design, so I started reading more about it. That`s how I found out a lot of reasons about why OP2 is better then a lot of average phones. I can say I am impressed about the CPU clock speed which is 8x 1.8Ghz compared to a lot of good phones where the average cpu clock speed is 5x 1.53Ghz. RAM memory is 4GB, better then Samsung Galaxy Note 4 (for exemple), internal storage is 64GB which I think is enough for a phone`s storage. When it comes to photos, OP2 has 13 MP for the main camera and also a built-in optical image stabilization, thing that I find useful when we want good pictures. There are a lot of reasons why I started being interested about OP2 and the low price is also one of them. Still, I wait for the new phones to launch so I can decide myself if I want to be the owner of an OP2 or I want another phone.

I really wanted to try OP2 but my wait list is so long that I may not get a invite this year and I will probably end up getting newer phone like nexus 5/6, note 5, iPhone 6s :(

Hi I got my Oneplus 2 today, it was purchased from China and imported to India and hence had the color OS, hand to install Oxygen OS as Color OS does not have google on it.

The phone feels heavy, looks great and is quite comfortable to hold

Got my hands of Oxygen OS and just finished installing, one remark on the same unlike other phones where you need to install a custom recovery to file the zip, in Oxygen I could just boot into recovery and install the zip file which is a great thing for the novice users as they will not be required to install custom recovery.

So i installed the OS without any issue took 5 minutes booted up quickly signed up into google and the phone was set up

Observation the phone heated while installing the backup apps which was not heavy use as why installing apps and syncing gmail will send more updates on the heating issue as i start using the phone.

I configured the fingerprint scanner though it takes some time to scan the fingerprint however it unlocks pretty quicky though there is an issue reported by one of the earlier reviewers that it stops working after sometime will update on that as I use the phone

Camera has not been tested so will take some night pictures today and upload them.

Thanks for posting your impressions so far! I'm sure we are all eagerly awaiting what you have to say about it!

So this is a quick tip for novoice users, if you have scanned your finger then you dont need to bring the phone from standby mode by pressing the power button just scan your finger it will switch on the screen and unlock autmatically

I have already purchased the C type cable from Orzly and it works pretty cool, the same is in black color and about the same lenth as the original cable the quality is top notch.

I beliver the C type cable is a must have and you should purchase the same first.

I have ordered the style swap cover from Amazon they are available on Amazon India and it should be delivered tomorrow will post the pics

Its the perfect phone for me (maybe not others)
1, Dual Sim i travel a lot.
2, 64Gb is more than enough storage for me.
3, I have never used NFC on any mobiles i have owned and i am not bothered about having my bank details stored on a mobile phone.
4, I don't need a QHD screen, all they do is drain the battery faster.
5, Not waterproof, well i'll keep it away from liquids.
6, Invite system is a pain but luckily I've got an invite coming asap (thanks Android Central)
7, I do enjoy having the finger print scanners on other mobiles.
8, No fast charging, i charge my phone when i sleep.

And after reading all the latest reviews i can't wait to get hold of it now...

with a 3600 mAH battery, and a hopefully optimised os which is relatively stock android, it should easily get you through the full day!

So today I got two accessories the style swap cover and the glass screen guard from OnePlus.

So what are my views on the style swap cover well I would say it good but its not vow and the reason could very well be that I am not wooden panely type guy but a fibre carbon type of guy hence it could matter of tast.

However please note that I am no waying that the cover is bad its good however it does not for me stand out.

The fit and finish is excellent and it has two connectors i guess its for some sort of antenna which is built between the plastic bottom and the bamboo top.

Images of the cover are below more will be posted tomorrow
