The only phone to get JB before the Sprint GNex was the internaltional/Play Store version, right? (Not sure about the GSM Nexus S.) We definitely got it before Verizon and before Canada. No other phone has an official JB update yet. (I know a few tablets do.) So does this put to rest the wailing and knashing of teeth over the Sprint GNex not having ASOP support? Especially since the Verizon GNex does have ASOP suppport and still hasn't been updated.

The Nexus S got it before us.

No I would still love to see Sprint and Google work out their differences and Sprint release the proprietary files so the Sprint GNex could get official AOSP support. It so hard having a Nexus device that isn't officially supported in AOSP except for a generous mentioning from JBQ of Google and the Android Open Source Project. This is from people like myself that like to build from source and not have to jump thru hoops to do so because of the lack of official support.

OK - this is me, with my usual rant, but I still don't see why Google can't work with the manufacturers and the carriers to push out all updates to all their Nexus devices on the same day. Ideally, all Android devices (that have the hardware to support the new OS) should get updated asap, but fine - I get it. Not going to happen. Those aren't Nexus devices either. OK.
Why on earth can't this happen for all Nexus devices?

Apple can do this because they control the hardware/software. But to improve Android's only major flaw (lack of timely updates), getting the Nexus devices updated on the same day should be a good start.
